    Hello MaryAnne,

    It is difficult for me to see life took away your innocence. I remember the young girl I met years back so well.
    I can tell from your writing someone got to you and not in a good way.
    Do you know that one saying by Maya Angelou? The one that goes:
    "I've learned that people forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel".
    Sweetheart, if this person makes you feel all these things above then run, run away and turn inside to God to find inner balance again. Don't stay around someone who makes the MaryAnne I know post poems on the explicit section:(

    You deserve better.

      Love you, Ingrid, thanks for your words and comfort. Yes, I have heard of that Maya Angelou quote before and it is quite profound. Yes, turning to God is the best thing to do. This poem wasn't about someone stealing my innocence, more that I became so vulnerable that I go hurt, even though this person truly didn't mean that, it happened and I got very involved. Have to ask God for the best guidance and move on, try to heal wounds. Hugs back... take care.

    Obviously, I cannot comment in the in-depth way Ingrid has - I don't know you - but if this poem is literal, then certainly, her advise is more than sound.
    From a purely technical sense, however, this is a powerful and well written piece. I love the opening lines: "I tried so hard to escape you but apparently you're a magician (I hate your tricks)" - great use of parenthesis there.

    I hope you feel better getting this out, I had to read it.

      ^ Thank you Ben & Darren. I know, I don't write Explicit poems often, not what I like to do but sometimes I just can't censor. And yep, it does feel better to get it out, realize where the anger came from, try to heal, etc.
