Err

I woke up one night...
...
Listening to the sound of the clock ticking...
I peeped outside the open window-
a desolate lane...
the moon hid itself behind dark clouds.
the darkness tells about the souless;
the wind blew and left a chilly loneliness behind...
My heart raced.
Where are you dear friend?

    A beautiful piece with a serene feel to it test sombre in that we Can all no doubt relate at waking at an ungodly hour to quietness and the moon has disappeared behind the clouds leaving us in darkness if there was no street light and some of us waiting for that someone too, makes it eerie doesn't it being alone.

    Nice poem Shruti.
    Easy to connect to the idea of suddenly waking up at an odd hour deep into the night and finding the stillness of the night quite disturbing..
    awarness of waiting for someone's return...
