Before You Sleep. . . Forever [ Rondeau]

Before you sleep or close your eyes,
let's come outside to watch the fireflies.
Let's build some benches made of sand
to sit together, hand on hand,
while we await for stars to rise.

And while your mouth emits long sighs
let's watch the time and how it flies
when you and I create a dreamland
------------------------ before you sleep.

And while the stars fill up the skies,
let's watch the seas rise up with tides
as you and I begin to stand
to walk our life into a land
where we can both grow old and wise

A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short - a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).
