The Pale Blue Dot ( An ode to Mother Earth)

by Hariharan   Oct 29, 2015

A Pale Blue Dot,
Suspended in a Sunbeam !
How insignificantly relevant are we,
A spec of dirt in a Raging sandstorm
Yet thriving with arrogance and greed.

Measured breaths ,
a small lifeline ,
Yet Plunder and Poach all our lives.
Six feet of space is all that we fill,
stretch egos ,across the oceans still .

Unbridled Arms ,
Un satiated Stomachs,
Gnawing far more than we can ever chew.
Even termites would feel ashamed of us
For devouring that Dot and its morning Dew.....

    Wow !!

    Really a strong read.
    I love this verse--
    Measured breaths ,
    a small lifeline ,
Yet Plunder and Poach all our lives.
Six feet of space is all that we fill,
stretch egos ,across the oceans still .

The arrogance of mankind and the ownership attitude towards mother earth and the factual insignificance of our existence are aptly captured in your poem.
    Thank you Hari .
