True Colors:

by Scott Cole   Oct 31, 2015

She sheeds her colorful foliage
One by one they fall abroad,
Covering the ground where they lay
Far beneath and way beyond.

The gentle wind lays them to rest
Each one different each one unique,
And as they take their final voyage
Her very existence is dim and bleak.

Her brittle branches are now exposed
And the extreme cold takes its toll,
But she stands tall through it all
From her determination and self control.

Her future is unclear and uncertain
But she never gives up hope,
Though times are alittle tough
It's her heart that helps her cope.

For life is not always easy or fair
It's not always blue skies and sunshine,
And if you learn to weather the storms
Then things will turn out just fine.

Cause in the blink of an eye
If you have faith and believe,
There's nothing you can not do
There's nothing you can not achieve.

Her branches are full once again
Her colorful foliage has returned,
She stands proud and confident
Because her true identity has emerged.

Stand tall and Believe In Yourself
And no matter what comes your way,
Though you may go through changes
Your True Colors will never betray.
