Shark Attack

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 31, 2015

The car broke down miles from home,
miles from nowhere.
Blue tears filled my eyes,
as I heard the engine cut off;
I knew there was only us
locked inside this car,
with all the windows rolled up.

Seeing red in your eyes,
I knew it wouldn't matter
if I begged or if I cried.
Instantly, I prepared myself
for your shark attack,
not knowing if I
would make it out alive.

    Dang, I loved this! There was urgency and fear and mystery. The brevity worked so well. I wonder so many things... if the "shark attack" is this person's anger, abuse, blaming you for things in the past and you just want to escape, to be able to breathe.

    Powerful scene!
