Please Forgive My Silent Heart

Please forgive the silence of my heart,
as it lies to you and pretends that I'm okay.

Please forgive my eyes,
for I know they will tell you the truth
the minute you look into them.

I want to take a risk,
hoping you can make a change,
and perhaps I will make
different mistakes than before.
If I follow my gut
and take a bold step forward
by letting you walk beside me,
then maybe together
we can start to attempt,
to turn this all around.
