Sometimes i need to leave this place

by zabetha   Nov 3, 2015

What are you doing
nothing
i'm breathing
the sounds of nature
trying to capture the scent
of slowly beating amphibian hearts
at the last heat of fall

i'm not really doing anything that would seem to be anything
to someone who doesn't need
the crick crick beat
to keep their heart in tune
with a humble scene

Possibilities are endless
and I am fearless
as I listen to my copperheads
slinking after the frogs
i need to keep my sanity

I was wondering why the loudness was so deafening
why my kids can't be still long enough to let me think
and if I will ever recover from my need
to escape

I am my father's daughter
I was never meant to stay.

Hello dear.. Somehow I can relate to this poem.. I know what's like when those noise little bsstards (kids) sort of stop your brain working and you feel you really need a break to keep your sanity.. :-)
