Kidnapped Dragon

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 3, 2015

Walking the streets in the dark,
trying to dry tears in the rain,
thinking about the pain
when it all falls down
between your heart and mine.

You have kidnapped me
because you think you have room in your heart,
but if this dragon cannot be tamed,
would you stick around,
or would you say goodbye?

And if I shut down,
I apologize,
but I will try my best
to leave a light in my heart
on for you.

    Saffie,
Your poems are always so honestly moving and genuinely told that - in truth - I never find them easy to read! But here I am reading another powerful piece, written delicately and truthfully as ever. I love the metaphor of the dragon; the idea of an angry, raging beast who is battle-scarred and ultimately, untameable perhaps?

    All the very best
    Ben
