Love the title, I keep saying it aloud!

So proud you unpacked that baggage, I can't imagine how much that would take to do so. Sometimes looking back can bring us down if we look negatively, but if we take on the perspective that it brought us where we are today, we can smile. We can accept ourselves. Not live in fear or depress ourselves. See we don't deserve to have our "light" brought down, be around those who try to live positive lives and give off good vibes basically.

Title well picked. I was often told that we create our own destiny. Looking back on life there are moments we want to cry but there are also happy memories. No matter what we endure in life it makes us stronger and the person we are today. We are able to accept ourselves. I have learned to distance myself from all the negativity and surround myself with positivity. Well written

The lessons we learn as we travel our journey of life. Sometimes we don't make the best choices. Yet we grow from them.
As we progress and grow older good things come to us and we can appreciate them and hold on to love. The memories of the past no longer haunt us. "Baggage"that you let go of. Then you can move on.
The last two lines I would put a space between them and the last line of the poem

Everyone is right, your title has a great impact and was beautifully chosen. I love how you managed to make something so painful and at times so dark become so completely beautiful - definitely proof of the saying "beauty from pain". The growth you show in this piece is amazing as well, if everyone created something of this nature even just once in their life they would not only feel such a freedom soaring through them, but they would inspire countless others, which is something I always love about your poetry.

Life is a jouney, a path we tred before we really know where its leading. The mountain you speak of is the upward battle against adversity; each step a struggle as we learn life lessons. Much of this journey we see the struggle as the moutains inflicted slope upon us. But, the most impotant lesson learned is:
The mountain is of self discovery and once we realise that and learn who we are, we are at the top. We breathin and take in the world and release our shadowed companion.

I like the title as it aptly depicts how we see ourselves.
