In Retrospect

by Anna Stephens   Nov 4, 2015

Would that this road

had been a bit smoother,

a bit straighter,

Perhaps the nights,

a few more stars,

a few less ghosts.

The dance a little slower,

the music softer

A million fewer tears,

worlds more laughter.

The plan a little clearer,

sun a little brighter.

The dreams more peaceful

and the love more enduring.

I could feel every word here, I think we wish we could make less of all of the things which meant to be very restricting for us, life is too short in comparison to the times of happiness.

    Great read, Anna.

Again you have written a piece that tugs the readers heart. It's sad as we go through life there is so much more we wish we could do. If only things would have been different.
    I really enjoyed reading this.
    Excellent.
