Orphism

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 5, 2015

Wailing of sticks and stones
paper and powder
often break flesh and bones
of those who speak louder.

Faith built on sweat or blood
are like the two edged swords
destined after the flood
as mankind moves towards

a pilgrimage to a wall
made of senseless solid stone
yet the hope transcends us all
to peace within our souls

That lies in the promised land
where brothers all are we.
Perhaps we will understand
the truth will set us free

Michael has written an impressive poem this week, I was eager to read this poem because he has a favorable way of making rhyme flow.. He nailed this piece with tasteful and lovely rhyme.

His title ties the poem in to a tee..

Religious beliefs are always such a hot topic throughout the world these days and I admire his banding together of all and one. Political poems can often become tedious, but not this poem and it actually gave me goosebumps. Very powerful!!

    Hello Michael,

A wailing wall just about sums it up. Leave the wailing to the objects that won't answer back. Maybe then us brothers can get along and like the evolved species that we are supposed to be.

    Take care,

    Michael

Lovely poem, Michael, with a wisdom inherent that we would all do well to heed.
