Caffinate me!

by Dark Secrets   Nov 5, 2015

Aroma of warm autumn
O' hurry down to me
Revive my senses
with thy toasty smell!
Of thick,
creamy
musk of all drinks!

O' scent that takes me far
On a balcony
in the midst of busy cities
where I lazily rest upon a chair
above all the noise and hustle
without a single care

O' calming smells within
O' bitter-sweet elixir
of coffee
How do you alert me so?!
when the potion has an opposite effect
to that of its perfume

I don't know how that I missed this one, I believe I wrote a poem about this magic elixir, but forgot the Title. Nice work!

Haha what a way to enjoy this beautiful piece than to read it drinking coffee. Ahh how it awakens every sense :) I'm usually a tea drinker but coffee as become more addictive as the insomnia days take toll.

    Great write, Em

I laughed at this, but not for the reason you might think. I'm a coffee addict, and this write brilliantly summed up every morning for me before work right after having to lazily wake up at 5.40am, pray (it's a Muslim thing), and then brew my addiction hit. I really liked it - you made my day, even if somewhat indirectly. Thank you :)

What a brilliantly clever little write this is - and the last line was excellent. The taste exhilarates and awakens, and the smell soothes and relaxes. Great imagination throughout this piece. Well done and all the very best
