This is a beautiful write, so wistfully written and dripping with imagery. I can almost smell that strawberry icing myself!
I will nominate this on Monday when I have some votes.....and if I remember!

I love sentimental poetry, especially when it is so eloquently described you feel you are there. Awesome write.

"Memories in the corner of my eyes". This indeed is a sentimental piece. These are the moments where we wished we could go back in time and relive that moment just one more time. I know I wished to go home and celebrate the holidays in my country the old fashion way. I will always cherish that.

What a joyful and reminiscent poem about longing for the past. You have created a lovely picture with your poetry, one that symbolizes youth and a harder way of life than what many have come accustomed to in this era of hustle and bustle. The title ties in beautifully with the poem. The poem allowed me to visualize things as they were told.Â
