Gone Girl

by Baby Rainbow   Nov 5, 2015

They say that to write a great poem,
or a great story,
you need a powerful opening line...

... well this poem tells a story,
and here is my starting line:

The short life of a child
stolen by desperate choices
of a vulnerable and lonely heart.

You were let out of sight way too young,
and you had to grow up way too fast
in a world you could not understand.

An invisible child,
suffering in silence,
and not one person in the world
could sense the pain you felt.

And now you succeeded
with your last goodbye,
as you now share the sky with the angels,

no more pain,
and no more abuse,

just a life too short,
becoming a memory
in our hearts.
