Thoughts.. (resubmitted poem)

by PETER EDWARDS   Nov 6, 2015

Don't ever despair or let 'them folk' win
Those hard cold people who get under your skin
Don't ever be blue or start to cry
Or let one tear fall from a beautiful eye
Just think of a choir of a thousand voices
A nightingale singing as within it rejoices
A babe being held in its mother's arms
Two Lovers enjoying each others charms
Waves breaking gently on Moonlit beach
Rainbows forming, ends out of reach
Those feelings you had when your heart was first won
Those waves of joy when your Love first begun

Think of that man now so far away
And what you will do when he returns one day
Fill your heart with warmth and devotion
Forget those cold folk with no emotion
Think these nice thoughts and a million things
Then your face will smile and your heart will sing
Turn to these thoughts when in despair
And no one seems to give a care
Please be happy and never be blue
You and me will see it all through
You may feel alone but don't ever despair
'Cause just for you, I will always be there..

Such a lovely write Peter. Life can knock you down and then we pick ourselves up and keep moving. We may cry for a little while and here comes a smile. I love the ending of this piece. Truly enjoyed reading.

Those thoughts were beautifully penned with effortless rhyme and flow. It reads so smoothly and at the same time carries a meaningful message for the person intended. Never give up no matter what, never loose sight even when you are made fun off..really liked this read :)

Very sweet poem to encourage people to use their inner warm to beat cold people. See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. :-)

    Hello Peter,

Your poetry has a quality that I admire. The meter and rhyme of course, but more that this, the contained message:

The world has cruel 'cold' people in it and they can cause pain without feeling remorse. A message about devotion and friendship that will endure and can be relied upon.

    Well done Peter,

    Take care,

As Ingrid says, a lovely write Peter that flowed beautifully and carried a weighty message with it too. Keep looking at the positives in your life, not the negatives, and certainly not the negative people.
Well done and all the very best,
    Ben
