Tainted, forgotten

by Tommy   Nov 7, 2015

Young, sweethearts
Future soulmates
Life, dreams
Child name debates

Fun, ambitious
All their desires
Adventures, memories
Shoes on wires

Dancing, spinning
Gods own creation
Tingling, giddiness
A true sensation

Happy, loving
Always Together
Healthy, smiling
Slight changed weather

Deceit, lies
Smiles wilt away
Arguments, bitterness
Brought by the day

Betrayal, adultery
A horrible feeling
Distraught, hopeless
Impossible for healing

Tainted, used
Still he tried
Unchanged, careless
She kept his cries

Hearts, souls
Broken to pieces
Memories, time
It all Ceases

Relationship, plans
Held by a thread
Marriage, future
Path is dead

Despair, distant
He bids farewell
Hopeful, hurt
Her heart dwells

Forgotten, excluded
He's still trying
Present, commenced
She's still lying

Unchanged, resolute
Nothing is new
Determined, transformed
He bids her adieu

    Tommy,

Such a heartfelt piece, full of raw emotion. Many of us have been broken-hearted and could probably relate to this. I feel this is based on some real life events of heartache and hurt and obvious ending of a relationship that meant a lot to you

The rhythm and syllabic count me the piece flow very smooth.

    Well done, Em

Thank you for the kind words! Yes this is based off of an 8 year relationship that ended. I usually physically write all my poems down but will be typing them on here so there are things to look forward too.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

    Tommy,

I really like the format of this piece, along with the flow and rhythm of your rhyme scheme.

This reads like a broken heart's rant or rap and I think it's beautifully and tastefully done.

Starting with the beginning stages of a love, ending with the sorrowful feelings at the end of the relationship.

Just a very powerful write, thank you for sharing!
