Frozen Shards Of Glass:

by Scott Cole   Nov 7, 2015

I'm unique in design
And I vary in size,
My life is short lived
To all watching eyes.

I'm a glorious wonder
From the Heavens above,
If you dig my presence
I'm a labor of love.

I amaze and astonish
Or get on your nerves,
Either way that it goes
You stare and observe.

I'm related to water
First cousins to ice,
Cold to the touch
And whiter than rice.

I'm a menacing mess
A beautiful vision,
I'll rain on your parade
Like nobody's business.

When temperatures rise
I'll make my escape,
When I shrink in size
And lose my shape.

For I'm a Snowflake
My life is a mush,
As times go forward
I'll turn to slush.

So enjoy my wonder
When I'm young at heart,
Appreciate my beauty
For I'm a work of art.

    Hello Scott,

great flow here and rhyme too. It was a pleasure to read as you one by one gave this reader a clue to what the poem was about...

finally the reveal was a snowflake. I must admit I didn't get it until the whiter part.

A lovely poem that contains imagery of all the elements of water.

Just one note, the title has a small typo.

    Take care,

    Michael
