Unmasked

by rita henderson   Nov 12, 2015

For years
silences takes the presence of my lips
For years
My heart is tightened by lock and key
I hide under my thoughts
my fear, my worries
not aware of what is about to unleash

for once i give in
open up
set my trust free

you came
you left
you came
you left

I'm torn by your sight
miss you
hate you
love you
and over

every word from your lips
a cut in my skin
deep and meaningful
but hide a lie within

what has life given me
what do i do with this anger

i sit in darkness
tears running down the pale skin of my flush
begging my father above to show me some light

i decide to break free..
no more hidden darkness
unmasked
the silence is free
my story will be known to the world
for all to relate

no one not you will stop me
I'm free
I'm me
unmasked

Hello Rita and welcome to pnq.

This is a dark and sad write indeed, laid out in a very appealing way that kept me reading with real interest.
    Well done and keep writing,
    Ben
