Broken Goodbyes

This poem starts with goodbye,
because this silence is always on my mind,
and I'm wondering if it ever enters your thoughts.

If I wait,
time will allow the darkness
to swallow me whole,
deep into a world without you.

If we never speak again,
I hope you find your happiness
and peace within yourself,
because we couldn't seem to find it
in each other.

And now I will say goodbye,
just like I always knew I would,

because broken goodbyes
is the only love I know.
