A beautiful tribute to one of the oldest giants still alive on this earth. We show so little respect to all creatures, not just our own species. It doesn't seem to register that one day, all these beautiful animals will no longer be around.

What a powerful write, Peter. But it seems at the moment, we are determined to wipe ourselves off the face of the planet, too.
I love poems with a message, and this has a powerful one. I like the structure too - the rhyming words coming from the same lines.
Internal rhyme, I guess!
