Heart's Haven

by cassie hughes   Nov 17, 2015

In darkest days you give me light
and help me see the road ahead.
For lost and lonely is the state
that is my mind when left, unled
and 'lowed to wander where it will,
Know that I would not find my way
If not for you, I'd stumble still.

Your beacon shines and calls me home
and I am drawn like moth to flame.
And in your arms I burn most bright
for this is where my heart feels safe
and in no others arms would peace
surround me as when here with you.
Within your gentle arms embrace
I can survive, I am fulfilled.

This is beautifully written Cassie, a great feeling within this poem, such peace at finding a love that rescues everything about you which is falling apart, a love that leads you to better choices and places.

The flow really matches the tone, it really matches that imagery of being completely at ease with this person, feeling complete and whole, and like it is exactly where you are meant to be.

Beautiful work and lovely job at matching the title.

    Cassie,
So good to see you writing again and what a beautiful, delicate and accomplished return!
This really is a smooth and flowing piece of poetry - the rhyming and rhythm are exquisite throughout and the sentiment is lovely.
Well done and all the very best.
