Alone Again

by Maren L Johnson   Nov 17, 2015

Dreams take on wings and fly away
Parasitic green, paints window panes
In a heap of once white torn strands
of happiness she begs tear ducts,
for just one more time.

Overgrown fingernails,
despair and gloom.
Swollen stomach and
matted hair.
Sitting in a castle of tombs,
she longs to fly way.

A bit of blue through a little,
insect nibbled hole in the wall
lends her hope in spurts,
but night always falls,
and leaves her alone again.
