Too Late To Start Over

If you wanted me back
to see if we could start again,
I don't know if I could.

I won't forgive you
if you just stand by
and let us drift apart,
but it's going to take more
than promises this time,
because you can't take back
what you've already said,
and I can't forget that
you left me all alone
in broken pieces...

and all I can do
is continue to try my best,
but would that be enough?

Because if it's not,
and you still can't love me,
then it utterly breaks my heart
to have to say,

" I don't think I need you anymore!"
