The Moth

by Broken Soul   Nov 22, 2015

I walked to the light one night
Oh so bright it was
I saw hope and happiness there but it was only a lie
Behind the light was the shadows
Shadows that brought me into their life
Confused at first I could only rhyme
No here I am cutting and crying
I'm running out of time
Now that light I loved
I learnt to hate
It's always there but I'm one the other side
I was a butterfly
But now I am the moth
They are the butterflies
And I am the moth
I reach for light only to be hurt
I fly to the light
Only
To
Be
Hurt

This really is a sad piece. I guess there are no shadows without light, are there? And some of us seem to be drawn more easily into the dark.
An interesting piece - keep writing and all the best,
    Ben
