This is an excellent and important piece that just puts the required brakes on our jovial spirit. We so often celebrate without thinking of those who are in no position to. We all say we do, but not many REALLY think and REALLY care.
Christmas won't save these children - only people can do that and so we have to care. Enjoy Christmas, but don't forget those who cannot.

This really did give me pause, Michael - especially the almost accusatory last line.

I often wonder myself. Most have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. What are we celebrating? It's now all about money making and buying expensive gifts. There's are so many children out there who have nothing and all we need to do is save theirs. This really touched me.

Michael, firstly well done on your 1700 votes lol.
Secondly I like the title as it reminds me of the Christmas bandaid song which I assume you were trying to achieve well, even if you weren't it worked for me.
Personally for me Christmas is about giving not receiving (I am atheist so Jesus doesn't cross my mind) and as Ben said often people in third world countries and in our countries too who obviously have no reason to celebrate do not cross our minds as we sit there unbuttoning our trousers because of eating too much unfortunately but I guess that's how society is more so now anyway and I believe society to be an ass.
I don't usually celebrate for reasons of my own and am usually alone but this year as you know I have a full house.
