Why do we cling to the womb
of a mother we pollute
with the venom of dishonesty in our breaths,
and seek warmth within the destruction
that we seem to be unable to stop
leaving in the wake of our journeys;
Why do we breathe the names
of the unforgiving stars
and the sacrificed earth,
with nothing but
disillusioned shame,
as if all were ruled by fate,
and we are cannot change
anything?
Why do I cling to the lingering warmth
of your casket carried on my shoulders,
as the burden of an expanding abyss
eats away at the core of my being?
Why do we seek forgiveness
from the Stars or from the Earth,
instead of forgiving each other
and venturing into the unknown:
together, we could search for
that ethereal beauty we longed for
when the stars punished us
for craving the light and life
given to us by the Sun.
