War At Christmas

by NoHopeLeft   Dec 12, 2015

It takes a heap of human emotions
to open up our eyes
to the unexpected gifts in life
makes this day an awful surprise.

Unfounded appreciation to a man
for the people whom we know;
like brother, uncles even fathers,
each one has a special glow.

Add some giggles and some laughter,
a dash of Christmas food,
but not this year,
not this Father.

For this Father, without his kids;
isn't Christmas at all,
decorate this New Year with optimism,
our joy will never cease.

My family is at war,
My boys are inside with toys,
I'm on the wrong side of the door,
You see,

I won't see my children this Christmas
please have a thought for me!

    Awe I do apologize for that hon cause that really is painful not being able to be with your kids since you love them all so much, hopefully next year you can be with them.

    The Holidays are always tough... its even worse when family's are at odds... and to not be with your children during this time of year is devastating... this is a powerful write, very expressive and emotional... ! well done :-)
