Things you said in silence

by Yakari Gabriel   Dec 13, 2015

Puts my hair behind my ears
softly. tells me:
"the fact is that you're too
much. you know this too.
got too much heat on your hips
too much pitch in your voice
too much curls on your head
too much truth on your
tongue. people look at
you and see fire.
and I know, love,
I know you want
to be less. I know you wish,
you didn't claim
as much space.
but understand that if
you were meant to be less
you would have been made that way"

    Dear Yakari,

Your poems are more answeres than questions. More arrived than seeking.

Whatever expereinces and journeys have brought about this strength - its admirable to see someone turning adversities into their strength.

A Fire never need to apologise for being a fire.

All the vey best - keep writing. Iam a big fan always look forward to your writings. :)

This is a stunning piece truly made to pop through its simplicity. I love the mixture of voices here and how the remembrance of this idea/person/conversation was enough to write something so effortlessly captivating.

This is very comforting to read even if an outsider can only understand a portion of it - your personal aspect is still beautifully penned.

Nicely penned, although personally I feel the style should have been a little more... creative, because there's an entire dynamic level of intrigue that seems to be missing here.
