Black Christmas

by Shruti   Dec 28, 2015

Days until today,
we shared, once,
a smile, a moment, a time, a year...
the air of Noel...around everywhere.
Yet so far, this day from now.
A loose yarn, of every breath,
spun in your icy look.
Yard drenched in winter snow,
of these Christmas hours,
promises lie in the damp ground
like crinkled paper planes.
A song...a hymn...a tune,
I wish to sing to you once again.
One wish,
just once-
a smile,
on those withered lips.
A wish, today, to make,
I desire,
yet scared,
to slip...
to fall...in its mire...
to take a step...
ahead...
closer...
to you.
But I shall still wait.
Where is the cascade of promises?
Lost in the oracle of unearthly darkness;
the fading whisper murmurs again...
The sound of the church bells...ringing...
Silver chime echoes all around,
the two bells ring in lunacy
...
Unheard resonance
...
Do you remember me?
