The Crossroads

"The Crossroads"

Been travelin this winding life for some time now
Through the dark woods, the sky, where blackbirds fly
Been in cages and I've been slave to much
And we stand here at the crossroads
Where lessons learned and love have seemed to touch

You've traveled too with treacherous tread
War wounded heart and a restless head
You gave your everything only to suffer much
And we stand here at the crossroads
Where wisdom and love and mercy touch

And I've heard that there's a place to go
And the road begins right here
And I love you so, enough to go real slow
Through the doubting and the fear
Our hearts ablaze, we are pioneers

You won my heart, my hero, my love
And the road ahead climbs higher above
I don't have much but I don't have regret
Here at the crossroads where our hearts met
