This piece mimics a journal entry, and narrates the author's thoughts in a really distinctive way. It's a bittersweet piece as you see the authors thoughts swing back and forth from a shimmer of hope to drear. The title is perfect for this piece. The ending was sudden and abrasive, ending the swing of the 'pendulum' that the author constructed through this piece. It's a gloomy write, but extremely well-written one. Well done.
