The Escape Artists

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 10, 2016

I write your name inside every poem,
hidden between the lines-
hoping that one day you will understand
how a simple promise you made
has broke my heart in half.

I guess you really didn't care to see
why I shed a lot of tears,
and why I recluse into the oblivion sky at night,
escaping my reality.

You were always saying things you didn't mean,
when you found them at the bottom of your glass.

Looking back on it now,
I guess we were both slowly escaping life's reality,
only I was doing it wrong in your eyes,
and I guess you didn't really care to see
that we were both escape artists,
who have now escaped from each other.
