If heaven was a mile away

by Dancing Rivers   Jan 11, 2016

If heaven was a mile away-
Or joy was more than a coy display-
If honesty was a breath of air
And love was more than a dare...

If hope could be a lonely chord
Played upon the pianoforte
or sorrow were a tainted window
through which your heart glowed

What bliss could be found here
in this place far yet near,
If you were an ocean's drop
Or a drop's ocean set aprop

The highest realms of introspection
What would you find upon reflection
Of your deepest core?

All these thoughts I do implore.

Very beautiful. I love poems that rhyme and carry a good point through strong imagery. This is really nice and I mean that in full honesty.

Thank you for sharing it with us :)

This is such a refreshing piece and so imaginative and full of a few of if onlys we can all but dream about.

Yay thank you so much ben, I've actually become far too accustomed to seeing your lovely comments on my works, sort of a great expectations rerun haha, but it is much appreciated, and quite an honor to have so loyal a follower.

Take care and hope all is well.

      Hazel.
