Stay

by Jenn   Jan 25, 2016

Moving forward one millisecond at a time,
Leaning closer then cowering back.
Determined to try to Love You,
but not wanting the searing pain of heartbreak.
Wanting something More,
yet frightfully holding onto What we have.
For Your affections emotionally I will pay.
Hoping all the while, you will stay.

I enjoyed this piece; though I think it can do with a bit of tweaking. Here's one possible version (it's just a suggestion, your decision to edit or not edit however you see fit!)

I like this Jenn. You have captured the wariness that we all feel, when we first apprehensively 'confront' a possible prospective new Love.
It's often a tricky time trying to work out what strategy is best, moreso if one could loose a good friendship if a wrong move is made!
A great write Jenn. Good imagery in your words.

    Hello Jenn,

I recognise this feeling of wariness. Wanting 'More', but apprehension coursing through veins creating a lack of courage to reveal perhaps the most difficult feeling of all: Love.

It is easy to recognise an old heart from a young one. The old one is scarred from all the 'searing' pain and 'heartbreak' it has suffered. Now, with this in mind it is small wonder that a heart is reticent.

    A good write,

    Take care,

    Michael
