Like Yesterday

Tell me mother
How not to forget
The memories gone by
When young and free
Dancing in the meadows
Watching the sunset
Musing on all the things
We are yet to see
Teach me mother
What does it take?
Be it I not sigh
It seems like yesterday

It seems like yesterday
The years gone by
It seems all's swept away
By the winds of time
I've wondered
How to make
Sweet moments linger
To live only for happiness
To forget sorrow,
I've pondered
How to bottle gladness
To quench the sadness
In times desperate
Is there a way mother
To be glad only of today?
Be it I not sigh
It seems like yesterday.

Ah...nostalgic feelings surround this poem... A wonderfully penned piece, with lovely imagery. This poem has so much to say in simple lines. The past and its blissfulness is something that always remains in our memories even if it exists no more in reality.
    Nice. Keep writing.

I truly love this poem. Recalling the bygone memories and the sadness that comes along with it is so painful. Very nice.
