Am not worth much

by zvikov   Feb 1, 2016

Worry not dear, I am not worth much
For you to fear, to try to please
A ruler of this kingdom, what value is such?
A simple man am I, after only thine heart.

For the man came before the king
Truly the king is but just a man
Is your heart the king's subject?
Tell me I adjure, the man prevailed!
Wealth enough to buy these lands is mine
Yet whose heart can these riches buy?
A king for the subjects, a man for your heart
Assure me dear, I am not worth much.
