i love daffodils and have written a few poems about them myself. This poem is stunning. It has real poise and elegance and is one of those that just rolls off the tongue and is a genuine pleasure to read.
I'm glad cindy nominated this as I am out of votes!
Good luck and thanks for posting a lovely poem.

    Hello Debbie,

this is a lovely poem and really breathes a vivid picture. A sleepy bulb full of potential, just waiting for the spring to lure it from the cold earth.

    Excellent melodic write.

    Take care,

    Michael

Reading this poem brings an image of a mother giving birth to a child, in this case mother nature giving birth to a daffodil.

    Buried 'neath the woodland snow
Where ice can't reach and winds don't blow

^^This here brings the image of a baby in the womb, warm and secure, sheltered from the cold world.

She sleeps and dreams of warming Spring
Trees and bushes tipped in green
From April rains she drinks her fill
    Bursting forth a daffodil

^^I like this ending for it brings forth the awaited result, like an expecting father/mother waiting for her child to emerge. A warm nature read which made me smile...very nice!

Thanks Meena! I do love using images of nature to apply to life situations, I like your interpretation of giving birth! I also imagined a lover lying in wait for her love to awaken her
