I remember the day
you were dropped off at my house,
entering my life and my heart.

I finally found in you
what I'd always been dreaming of.

That day was only the beginning
of my life with you,
your life with me,
our lives together.

I loved you before I even knew your name,
and before I saw your face,
I knew I would be addicted
to your golden fur and spirited soul.

You entered my life that day,
and I instantly wondered
how I ever coped without you.

You were the greatest gift
that I would come to appreciate
even more with every passing day.

When I found you,
I found serenity.
