Yes, That's me

by Andrea   Jul 7, 2004

Yes, that's me.
Not the one in the gray
But the other one
Half hidden behind the tall man in the suitecoat
That is me.
But that picture was taken a while ago.
It was before my misery started.
See my beautiful hair?
It used to curl just so
And rest on my shoulders.
See those eyes?
They're my mama's eyes.
And Maybe a little bit of daddy's gray in them too.
I used to turn those blues on anyone
And they'd melt
Right there on the floor.
I always got compliments on my eyes.
See how my face glows?
Doesn't it look marvelous?
Yes, that's me in the green shirt.
My Aunt was always buying me green things.
She said it brought out my blue eyes
I thought that to be ridiculous
How can one color bring out another?
I don't remember who took that picture.
Oh, that man standing in front of me is him.
It was a shame, everyone said so
To Drink one out of everything
Even life
But still
My life goes on
Just as it did yesterday
or the day before.
Yes, that's me.
Right there.
