Nobody

by Gasttlee   Feb 10, 2016

It's the same story over and over again.
A story as old as last year's trash.

I've always wanted something,
something many others have, but I could never attain for myself.
Something completely out of my reach.

To glitter along with others like diamonds,
but I'm just a cheap copy
to be crushed like ice
to melt away in tears.

I dissolve among others
and am just as easily forgotten.

I'm not quality material
of any real value or worth.

I'm just second-rate
and there for support,
nothing better and nothing more.

I'm not treasure
or anything to be attached to,
for I will only cramp your style.

I'm good
for nothing but trash.

I'm nobody special,
just simply
nobody.

I like the use of diamonds and treasure as a metaphor. Unique approach to a more common topic of insecurity. Keep up the good writing!
