What was the greatest game you ever played?

What was the greatest game you ever played?

I love Golf, when in the "am" I leave my love one may grieve and not see me for the day by the way. As I prepare to leave our dog opens his eyes, closes them again with a big sigh.
In the Club House, at the Bar, when you say "Fore" do all hit the floor?

At the Tee off I stand tall and look strong but in my mind I pray that I will hit the ball straight and long.
A Birdie or two you have and the Eagle has smiled upon you. your putting has been fine, right on the line, should I use the driver or an iron? These are the big questions on my mind as looking down the Fairway at the Par five 18th, I know that what my Caddy suggests will be fine.

My shot lands 30 feet from the green, my next stroke is very bold and puts the ball four feet from the hole, the smile on my face by everyone can be seen, the crowds in the Stands go wild, this armature has them all beguiled.

A miracle day this has been and now my easy Putt comes for this Open Master's win. I feel a shrug on my shoulder, my Caddy says; make the Putt, you are the leader of the day with 10 under, then I realized I had been day dreaming, in a daze, reality now has returned to my gaze.

When I arrived home the dog was jumping, he knew that the smile on my face meant something. My wife said; how was your day dear, I showed her my Trophy showing that I had broken the Record of the Club for all the years, then came the hugs and the tears.

*Dedicated to all the Golfers of the world.

    Ken,

I don't do golf but know many golfers and this is a wonderful story about golf.
Shame you can no longer play with your back.

Thanks Ben, I too have back problems from lifting too much weight, about 5 years ago I was doing "Dead Lifts" with about four hundred pounds and felt a crunch in the low back and to this day I suffer pain and regret for showing off!
Like you I know that trying to swing a driver is not a good idea. Glad you liked the poem.

    Ken,
This had me laughing again. It reads almost like a comic short story with constant amusing rhyme littered throughout.

I used to love golf, but with one almighty swing of the driver, put my back out. That was 15 years ago....at 34, I am yet to recover fully! lol

    All the best, Ken
