Love's Dagger

A sacred promise becomes meaningless
as it's washed upon the shore,
vanishing with the waves-
just like us.

I need you so much,
but our love got lost in time
as some cruel twist of fate
left you only slightly there.

I'm about to pack away the memories
and enclose the best of us in the past.

And I've looked out my armour again
so that this time,
your dagger will never reach my heart.
