My Universe

by Brenda   Feb 14, 2016

I have traveled
around the sun
many a time...
I have watched
the tides roll and ebb...
The moon has
shown its face
more times
than I can count...
Through this endless loop
of universal happenings
my one constant
is you...
You are the one
I have traveled
through time and space
to be with...
You are the one
that no matter
how many lives
I may live
I will search the world over
just to be back
by your side...
You are my only reason
I would brave
being burned
by the sun,
charring my wings,
sending me plummeting
into the depths
of the sea
if it meant
I could spend
just one more day
with you...
I love you,
I want you,
today, tomorrow, forevermore....

Thank you all! Yes, Brenda is very happy. I never thought I would ever find that one person who makes me so very happy. He is my universe and I would travel space and time again and again to be by his side. Thank you all again! I don't think you will ever know how much your comments really mean to me-hugs-

    Brenda,

I can't believe that I missed this one. It's a stunning write. There's almost a marvellous, uncontrolled free-falling-into-love feel to this piece as you near the end, made possible by your wonderful layout.
If we can find that 'constant' in a world that shifts and spins around us; if we know that there is always that someone that is not only going through it with us but supporting us too, then we are very lucky indeed.

    A wonderful poem, Brenda.

    Ben
