Emerged

I have emerged.
Taken by the very essence of reality and thrown into a whirlwind of,
Transformation.

A revolution-
More powerful than the ever changing winds of a hurricane and bigger than the mere cycle of metamorphosis within nature,
I am evolving.

A twist of fate-
Sharply turning from a trodden, redundant path to a road unknown and carelessly forgotten,
There's a second chance.

An overdue opportunity-
Made possible by the sheer force of my fear and the irrevocable strength I have gained,
From escaping my imprisonment.

I am rising above-
With open arms I have used and abused to build these walls around me, sturdy they held with the glue of uncertainty and broken trust,
They now slowly crumble.

I found the door-
Once so tightly tucked away in the deepest and darkest corners of my ever questioning thoughts and insecurities,
I have broken through.

Not as a beauty or a beast-
But as a warrior with her battle scars, carrying a will so strong and starved for success and acceptance,
I take my first steps.

Unsteady but determined-
I break through the chains of a past life riddled with malicious hands and faces, tainted with the disappointment of broken promises,
I found forgiveness.

Humbled and free-
I will rise above the degrading words embedded within me, for my heart was not made to hate, and my place not meant to judge,
My head is held high.

I embrace this new world-
With the temperament of an abused pet, beaten and shamed to the point of distrust,
But I will learn.

I will find my place-
Among the passions that have stayed hidden and protected within me for fear of marring their purity and hope,
I will move on.

I am blooming-
A flower unfolding to the promise of life, given a chance to grow and open my eyes to the new world around me,
I take a deep breath.

I am a fighter-
Welcomed into the very arms of Mother Earth herself and the ever giving love of God,
A force to be reckoned with.

I have emerged.
