Ben, Thank you so much! No, this poem wasn't literal but it was written with the thought of all of us having done something we weren't proud of. You are right about society in a whole expecting all of us to be these "perfect" images and frankly we aren't. But that's ok, I'd rather be me than some carbon copy of what society thinks I should be. |
This made me feel SO sad - you are not a joke - no-one is and there is beauty in everyone. You have to look at what and who you are and appreciate the beauty of you - you have to grow to love yourself for all the fantastic things you are - and then nothing but good will come your way. Superficial people then will not matter at all - we all deserve the best - beauty shines through the eyes but comes from within - that's what true beauty is. |

Awww, thank you so much! It did take me a long time to really love myself. We are our worse enemy and we always see our flaws vs our good things. This poem was written with that in mind and so many of us have done things we aren't proud of. Society puts such a high priority on being beautiful and perfect instead of embracing how really awesome we really are just as we are. Thank you for your kind words. |

Thank you so much! I totally agree with you about how annoying and pathetic us humans can be. We really are not so nice at times. It would be wonderful if we could just accept our fellow human instead of placing beauty as the norm. |
