This is indeed a very hard concept to deal with and one that many have to, unfortunately. The little footnote at the bottom certainly added weight to this poem - not that any was needed - and left me finding it a raw read because of that.
I too often wonder 'what if' but I am beginning to understand that life is too short for those.......as ironic as that is!
