Springs Mourning

by Daisy if you do   Mar 8, 2016

There is something
about Winter
that brings solace
to her soul

-Perhaps-

a time of remembrance.
Something
that particular Spring
didn't offer.

Reflections of past times
when family was
center in her world.

-Yet again-

the raw beauty of December
when Mother Nature
has stripped away
her coats and coverings
in celebration of freedom.

-Symbolic-

of Fred and Ginger
dancing in the rain
She compares herself
to the disguise
nature dons
during a time
likened to rebirth.

-Sinful-

words are they...
Springtime bliss.
For her
that is when
beloved passed
And since,
she has loathed
everything related

-She longs-

longs for Winter's kiss,
When snow shall mask
her saddest memory

Written for my beautiful friend Cindy Graver. May you rest in peace sweet Angel. This is an old poem written in 2010. Cindy loved it.

I never knew Cindy personally as I have only recently started back on this site but I know quite a few are saddened by her passing as I know I'm sure I would be if I was around.
This piece gave me Goosebumps and is quite symbolic for you. Beautiful.

    Kay,

How in the world was this one missed by me and others?

This left a lump in my throat whilst reading, not least because I know the truth of it and how much Cindy loved the winter and snow. She used to tell me how she would look out the window, waiting for it. I think (I might be mistaken) she saw some before she passed - but she said it had come late this year.

Those last three lines are so powerful Kay, and I am absolutely sure - as you say - Cindy loved this piece.

Take care and all the very best
    Ben
