Comments : What I'm scared of

Lloyd I loved the complete honestly of you poem. So many soldiers...marines etc would never admit to having a fear but, you have openly admitted that you do and..I take my hat off to you for doing so because...fear is a good thing when put in your situation, it can help save your life and that of others.

Be proud that you are doing something to secure the safety of your existing family and future family..stay safe....

    Hello Lloyd,

having fear is necessary as a marine, as a father, son, brother...
without it who are we - nothing! It is all about perspective and balance...

As Hellon states, an honest write.

    Well done,

    Michael

Just, ...God bless you your heart.

(and if you just so happen to be an atheist, er, I meant no offense, I promise!)

This is by far your best.

I have a cousin in the marines and he acts all 'macho man' but we know he has these fears himself, every marine, soldier etc does. Such a heartfelt piece.
