"Trichotillomania" - a compulsive need to pull at one's hair, often leading to baldness.
(Yes, I had to google that one)

An acrostic that you have managed to rhyme (and well) which is never easy and one that left me scratching and pulling at my hair!

For people who don't know about this condition, the poem could almost be regarded as humorous - until the end, which leaves us in no doubt of the seriousness of this condition and the effect it can have.

    All the very best,
    Ben

This is very good! It's sad to think about how many childhood traumas manifest and continue into adulthood. We carry the hurt.

    Michael,
I know you put this entry into sad poems, but I found it to be hilarious. Perhaps I'll catch flack, since it's a real issue with real consequences, but your poem made me smile.

The fact you created a rhyming acrostic out of this disorder indicates to me you are a fellow eccentric.

      Hi Larry,
the phrase 'pulling my hair out' is synonymous with stress mixed with wry humor; so I can see the funny side. This condition is serious though for the sufferer; not just because of the lack of support, but also due to a lack of understanding as it is perceived as self inflicted, much like self harm.

As for recognising my eccentricity, I am learning to embrace difference as uniqueness. Birds of a feather eh?

Emotional well written. Everyone has different ways of dealing with past miseries and this is one that I haven't heard of before put to verse

Michael, I was so surprised to find a poem about this! I've done research on it before and read stories from the people who struggle with it. A lot of people don't even know the seriousness of it or that there's an actual name for it, so thank you for writing this and educating!

    Michael,

This is an emotional piece based upon something that not a lot of people know about. It's quite a stressful thing to have (I have a friend who has it)

Yes, it can leave you broken. You wrote about it very well, the rhyming and vocab made the piece flow smoothly as always.
